ICHIRO Jishoya graduated from Osaka University of Arts Music Performance Department.
After performing as a full member of Osaka Philharmonic Orchestra
before joining "ONDEKOZA" to serve as leader and music director.
In 1989 ICHIRO left group to head up "Wadaiko ICHIRO",
which later changed its name to "Japanese Drums Orchestra ICHIRO"("JDO ICHIRO").
Since 2002 ICHIRO has performed as a soloist.
ICHIRO has performed in 23 countries around the world and appeared on stage nearly 1,500 times,
performing concerts at such venues as Boston Symphony Hall, Sadler's Wells Theatre in London,
Berlin Philharmonic Hall, the Opera house of Amsterdam, The Birmingham Symphony Hall,
and Odeon of Herodes Atticus theatre in Athens and many more.
ICHIRO has also performed as a soloist in the Japan Virtuoso Symphony Orchestra.
In 2003, ICHIRO released his first solo CD titled "MADE IN JAPAN".
IN TVCM, ICHIRO appear for Ezaki glico "DONBURI", JT"Seven star custom light".
ICHIRO appeared the role of wadaiko teacher on NHK television renowned program "Oshare Kohbo".
At present in 2005, ICHIRO was a taiko instructor in the department of development sciences in the University of Kobe.
As ICHIRO has a firm classical background and is the owner of perfect pitch,
he has composed many Wadaiko pieces.
In 2011 produced, played and composed music for a documentary movie,
"Drum Out the Drum of Happiness -INCLUSION-".
